How to Add Music to iTunes
If you are on Windows 7, Windows XP or Vista your songs must be added to the iTunes Music Library.  To add: 

  1. Close iTunes (if it is open).

    Open iTunes again.

    From the iTunes File menu, select Add Folder to Library...

    For XP: From the Browse For Folder window, select My Documents, select My Music, then select OK.

    For Vista: From the Add To Library window, select Music, then Select Folder.

    Your song(s) will be added to the iTunes Music Library. 

If you are on Macintosh OS X, your songs must be added to the iTunes Music Library.  To add:

  1. Close iTunes (if it is open).

    Open iTunes again.

    From the iTunes File menu, select Add to Library...

    From the Add to Library window, select Music from the Places list on the sidebar, then select Choose.

Your song(s) will be added to the iTunes Music Library.  Note. If you want to add your music to iTunes, you will need to repeat this process after each future purchase.

 

 

Back Up Song Files
The easiest and fastest way to back up your song files is to burn them to a CD. By burning a CD, you not only have a safe backup of your music, but you can take it with you and play it in any CD player. If you want to transfer song files to another computer or external drive, just copy them using a disc or other storage media.
